SWISSED18 - recapitulation

Thank you to all systems engineering enthusiasts who attended SWISSED18. You have witnessed excellent keynotes, 190 attendees, and a relaxed atmosphere with a stunning view on lake Zurich.

We hope that you enjoyed the day as much as we did and that you got new inspiring ideas.

Thanks to all Sponsors!

The SSSE thanks again all sponsors for their support of SWISSED18. You enabled us to run SWISSED18:

Message from Siemens:

"It was again a wonderful opportunity to network among the Swiss Systems Engineering community and a pleasure to sponsor SWISSED18. Please find hereafter more information about our solutions:

„It was pleasure for us to meet you during the Swiss Systems Engineering Day 2018 as platinum sponsor. To intensify Systems Engineering topic, we’d like to offer you a Live Webinar “Accelerate Systems Architecture Design”.

Message from HP:

“HP Switzerland was there for the 1st time at the SWISSED18, but it won’t be for sure the last time. Thanks for the interesting discussions, and make sure to keep in touch with us and follow our software-focused strategy and find the best devices for every system engineer on value-hub.ch.”

Thanks to all Presenters!

Each year, we are glad, that world wide recognised experts accept our invitation to provide key note speeches and we are glad for all the contributions to the technical programme.

Thanks to all Supporters!

A big "thank you" to the Swiss Systems engineering community and in particular to all those who supported us prior and during the event. Our thanks go to contributors of the technical programme, to the last minute supporters on the day, and to all people who were supporting our marketing campaign and were bringing the SWISSED18 brochures into the coffee corners of their organisations.

Some impressions of the outcome of the world cafe:

Congratulations to Lisa Staehli!

Lisa won the SWISSED18 student prize in recognition for her thesis “Turbulence ahead–Using JavaScript to Design a Web - based 3D Turbulence Simulator.

You can read the summary of her master thesis. We hope she stays in touch with the Swiss Society of Systems Engineering and we wish Lisa an interesting start in her engineering career.

Feedback about the Design Thinking Playbook

Message from the authors of the Design Thinking Playbook:

Dear Participants of the SwissED18

We like to follow-up on the SwissED event. Larry was kind enough to sponsor 200 copies of "The Design Thinking Playbook". We really hope you enjoying the tools and methods presented in the playbook.

The German edition of The Design Thinking Playbook has been an Amazon-bestseller in the category of project management over the last 12 months. We strongly believe that Design Thinking and Systems Thinking should be used for complex problem solving.

In chapter 3.1. Mike Johnson and Patrick Link have outlined how both thinking styles might be used over the entire design cycle. Followed by two chapters about lean start-up the design of complex systems in business.

It would be great to get some feedback from the Swiss Systems Engineering Community about The Design Thinking Playbook. We happy to receive your emails and comments.

In addition, it would be great to get some promotional statements about the playbook at Amazon. We are delighted about every 5-Star  review on Amazon or any other recommendation on social media or newsletters.

If you would like to order additional playbooks for your company, we can offer you a discount of 25-30% depending on the language and quantity.

Please contact Michael or Patrick for your requests and comments about the Playbook. (Michael.lewrick@swisscom.com or patrick.link@hslu.ch)
Best Regards,
Mike, Larry, Michael and Patrick
